Knitting Kisses

Eric’s been after me to write more for the website, so here it is, two short stories about Johann. Johann said he wanted to learn how to knit, so we went to the yarn shop to see what they had for children. We decided on yellow child-size #9 knitting needles. I gave Johann a left over ball of blue yarn. He rubbed the needles together and mimicked my arm movements, asking me if that’s how you knit. Very cute. I told him that he had the right idea, but there was more too. I demonstrated garter stitch, but he soon lost interest, which didn’t surprise me. We’ll try some other time when he shows interest again. He just wanted to have knitting needles like Mommy.

At bedtime a few nights ago Johann started a kissing circle game. We had been giving each other kisses and hugs. Soon it developed into Eric being instructed to kiss me, so I could give the kiss to Johann and then Johann would give the kiss back to Eric. Occassionally I got the kiss back from Johann and Eric would kiss my other cheek at the same time. What could be better than being sandwich-kissed by the two most important people in my life?
