Butterfly Hatchings

Yesterday Johann and I went to the market to get a few items and give Tammy some undisturbed sewing time. One of the things we picked up were some carnattions for Johann’s butterflies. Just in time too. This morning two of them came out early in the morning and a third emerged around 10am. The last two are still in their chrysalis, but as they didn’t form their chrysalis until a full day after the first three it is not a surprise.

Johann was very excited to see the butterflies come out and he and Tammy promptly fed them sugar water on carnations. We’ll see ab out getting a picture before we release them, and then getting some pictures of Johann releasing them. We do have to wait a few days as the night time temperatures haven’t yet climbed high enough to let the painted ladies free.
