One of Johann’s birthday presents was a pair of CD’s from Laurie Berkner: Whaddaya Think of That and Under A Shady Tree. We saw her first in some short video breaks on Noggin. Johann loves her song “We are the Dinosaurs” which was featured in one of the Noggin videos. The dancing and roaring that goes with the song is fun and energetic, in fact my new exercise regime is dancing with Johann for an hour or so while one of the CD’s plays through start to finish. By the end of the CD I am toast, yet Johann is still bouncing and singing the songs himself for the next hours. A few of his favorites are available on Laurie’s site as windows media player sample songs: I’m Gonna Catch You (Probably his overall favorite) and Under A Shady Tree from the album Under A Shady Tree and We are the Dinosaurs and I know a Chicken from the “Whadday Think of That” album.
I can’t recommend Laurie’s albums enough, especially as they are catchy and fun for both toddler and adults (well at least Tammy and me).
